About Me

creative children's writerAbout Me

I’m a writer from Pittsburgh, PA. I love creating for children and readers of all ages.

You can find my fiction stories, non-fiction articles, activities, crafts and recipes in many magazines including including Highlights for Children, Muse, and Cricket.

I also write for the educational market. I’ve written for a variety of ages from PK-2 to high reading level middle schoolers. In 2019, I have a non-fiction book coming out from Capstone. I also have three fiction books for the Heinemann Literacy Project (Fountas & Pinnell Classroom) coming out this year.

I’m the regional advisor for SCBWI Pennsylvania: West, and I was 2016-2017 Fellow for Pen Parentis.

I have my BS in Biology and I was a science educator at Carnegie Science Center for many years. I also have my BA and MA in American History and was a teaching assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park. I attended Salisbury University as an undergraduate and was the editor of the sports section of The Flyer.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, with my family. I’m a runner and a reader and I love learning about and trying new things, whether it’s a new dessert, a new hiking path, a new museum, new facts, or a new country!
